Greetings to all you I Love Lucy fans -- direct from Lucille Ball’s (and Lucy Ricardo’s) hometown! It is my great privilege to be the director of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center , in the far southwestern corner of New York State. My job? To fulfill the Center’s mission to preserve and celebrate the legacy of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and enrich the world through the healing powers of love and laughter. We have two museums in downtown Jamestown. The original Lucy-Desi Museum pays tribute to The First Couple of Comedy. The Desilu Playhouse -- the I Love Lucy museum -- showcases full-size reproductions of the Ricardo’s New York City apartment and the Hollywood Hotel suite, original props and vintage costumes from the show and an interactive Vitameatavegamin set. We host two terrific festivals every year: Lucy-Desi Days Memorial Day Weekend Festival (this year, May 25-27) and Lucy’s Birthday Celebration (this year, August 3-5). Each festival has more than 40 events, including Lucytown Tours, film fests, trivia contests, outdoor movies, a memorabilia auction, vintage collectors show and more. This May, the president of our board, Lucie Arnaz, will be with us, moderating an exploration and celebration called The Legacy of Laughter (or LOL, for short). We’re thrilled to have TV Land as our exclusive corporate sponsor for all LOL events in 2007. Lucie Arnaz will also be bringing musicians to Jamestown from California, Florida, and Texas for a very special concert as our grand finale for the festival on Sunday evening, May 27. But before Lucy-Desi Days 2007 in Jamestown, Lucie and Desi, Jr. will be taking part in this month’s TV Land Awards this Sunday, April 22 at 9PM! I hope you’re planning to tape, TiVo®, or tune in! Our friends at TV Land are honoring the First Lady of Comedy with a very special award and Lucie and Desi, Jr. will be there in person to accept it. I’m really looking forward to the weeks and months ahead as together -- you, me, and TV Land -- celebrate the memory of that zany redhead and that dashing, talented Cuban -- both of whom are still so much a part of all of our lives. Let me hear from you! Ric Wyman |

I'm hoping someone out there has had the opportunity to visit the Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron and can help me out. I live in Cincinnati and am interested in renting out the log cabin in the park for a family event, but have not seen the cabin. Has anyone visited visited it before? If so, please let me know so I can book it soon!
Thanks,
Julie
Hi Ric,
I am so excited that my friend found out about this website and told me about it. I can't wait to go to next years Festival during Lucy's Birthday Celebration!! I already tried to get accomodations and was booted off because you can only fet reservations 50 weeks in advance. You can bet that in 2 weeks I'll be back on-line to get those accomodations. I want to be in the heart of everything. I cannot wait. I love Lucille Ball and cannot believe you'vehad these festivals for 9 previous years without me knowing :) With warmest regards and cannot wait to be up in Jamestown from 8/1-8/3/08. I remember the day she passed, I was in my first year of high school. I remember just sitting in my room crying. She was a beautiful woman. She is gone but not forgotten.

From One Fan To Another'
Hi Ric-
I love what has been done in Jamestown...I've been there a few times and plan on returning each year for at least one of the festivals.
A great product for the gift shop would be replicas of the old Desilu jackets. They could be a great Center Exclusive Item. Thought I would pass it along in hopes they could someday be produced.
Thanks for all you're doing!
JIM
Hello, Iam a lucille ball fan all the way. I watch tv land everyday to see "I Love Lucy".
I don't watch anything else except "I Love Lucy". And i was wondering could it be possible,
to put "I Love Lucy" on tv land weekdays and to put "Here's Lucy" on weekends? I would
love to watch all of her shows on tv land if possible. Is there anyway of making that happen? "Here's Lucy" on tv land on weekends and "I Love Lucy" on tv land on weekdays.
I would love to see that happen. Please make it happen! I look forward to watching all of her shows on tv land. She brings my spirit up when iam down or sad. If only she was alive today, i would have love to meet her. I would have love to sit and talk with her. Let's keep
her alive by showing more of her shows. Thanks. Learley Wells From Chester, Virginia.

I have been watching I Love Lucy since I was in 4th grade and I have been going to the festivals for eight years now and I think that they get better each year. I am also glad that Lucy recieved the Legacy of Laughter award. I don't think there is anyone else that fits that award, she deserves it 100%. It's great how the re-runs are still playing so that everyone gets to see a true comedian at her greatest. I hope that I love Lucy re-runs keep playing on TV forever.

denn
Why did Ricky have to sing in every show? More comedy Less singing.
Trevor
Okay, listen revor, Desi sang in the Classic Tv Show I Love Lucy, because he was A. a singer in real actuality, and B. because he owned a night club where you sing! I should know, He is my Dad, and I do not appreciate your comments like that, please do not say that. If you don't know, he died of cancer in '86 so please do not leave comments like that for me.
I had the priviledge of attending the Lucy-Desi days in May 2006 and I must say, I had the time of my life. I wish I could afford to go back every year. Keep up the good work and maybe I'll see you there soon. Regards, Patty
I visited Jamestown a year and a half ago and had the time of my life! I indeed want to go back! Keep up the good work Jamestown ....
i watched the tv land awards & thought that the tribute & award presentation to lucy was great & very deserving. i also saw the uninterupted segment online & what better person to present it to lucie & desi jr on behalf of their mother than that of carol burnett. both of the kids looked great. i think that lucie arnaz is one of the most beautiful, talented & best dressed people in entertainment. i had the priviledge of seeing her on broadway way in dirty rotten scoundrels & what a talent she is. i also have the live cd of desi jr from boulder colorado. in this day & age, it is refreshing to see two very talented people from a showbiz family carry on in their own unique way & inspiring way. i won't be able to come to jamestown in may. i so want to meet lucie arnaz in person. maybe some other time she will be there again...congratulations to lucie & desi jr & to tv land for continuing to preserve the legacy of lucy & desi(who in the public eye, never really got the recognition he deserved) & to viv & bill the best landlords anyone could hope for...best wishes to everyone involved....THANK YOU
thank u for sending my stuff my mom gave it to me today on my birthday i like u a lot i had no idea u had kids i thank u & them for the stuff i love it.
i so enjoyed the segment on tvland. i especially liked it when desi layed his head on his big sister's shoulder and she sort of kissed him back.
i watch lucy everyday either on tvland or on dvd, as do millions of other fans. she is and will forever be my idol.
this weekend, may 5, my local library will be hosting a "lucy" day and are so honored to have ric wyman come. other than my letter from lucy herself, this will be one of the most exciting things, regarding lucy, in my life.
thanks, ric. i am looking forward to your visit!!
and thanks, lucie and desi, jr. for carrying on the "legacy of laughter". what an appropriate way to honor you mom and dad, two extraordinarily talented people. what a gift they gave, and continue to give, to the world. the gift of "love and laughter".
Was there ever an 'I love Lucy' show that didn't make you laugh? Did you re-late to a lot of the things that happened in these episodes? Yes, this was a comedy. Yes, Lucy was a comedian. But every show didn't start out funny. The characters had to still deal with 'life', the best way that they knew how. And they all handled it differently from each other. There was Argueing, fights, seperation, despair, loss, gain, wealth, poverty, financial difficulties, suspicions of unfaithfulness, jealousy, competitiveness, sadness, greif, loneliness, love, hate, improv, and joy...and the list goes on.
Including tons of emotions that was being displayed. But* no matter what Challenges and Crisis that they had to go through, Including all their 'Real person personal life' Lucy knew how to take her gifts of 'JOY' and allow it to turn around a difficult situation and make it funny!! There is a scripture in the bible that says: "The Joy of The Lord is your strength'! Neh 8:10.
This world in which we live in today, needs a lot of Joy, Love and laughter. It not only makes you feel good, and gives you Hope and Faith agian but it makes life a whole lot easier to deal with. Though we lost a Great team of Real Life Characters.. Lucy, Desi, Vivian, and William. We are still blessed to continue to enjoy their gifts thru our tv sets and all the wondeful things that are planned to 'Celebrate this lady's life'. Including 'laugh' workshops, ect. I think an memorial honor goes to Lucie and Desi Arnaz Jr for their unconditional love they have towards their parents and just for being a special part of thier life.
"The Lucy way' basically means 'What would Lucy do?
Let her be an example for us to follow.. to bring a dying and hurting world.. some joy!!
Thank you for your comments, and thank you for taking the time to punctuate and spell your comments So many people do not care anymore about how they write. It is refreshing to read something from someone who still cares about that kind of thing.
Here's to you Lucy and Desi, thank you for the brief moment of time that was yours to pass through, and the choice you both made of what to do with that moment! It will endure forever because it is love and that is all any of us really are.
AMEN Kathleen P. I am a major diehard fan of "I Love Lucy" and an evewn bigger fan of LUCY herself...what a beautiful, talented, funny lady. And let's not forget a driven, take-no-BS, shrewd businesswoman (running Desilu after her and Desi's divorce).
LIKE YOU AND COUNTLESS OTHERS, 'my hat goes off' to Lucie and Desi, JR for their eternal love and tribute to their Mom and Dad ! How big a fan are you, dear? Short of a votive candle, I almost have a shrine dedicated to Lucy (esp. "I LOVE LUCY" memorbilara) a a tall 5-shelf bookshelf...LOL !
Have you ever been to Jamestown? I so want to go there ASAP !
Hope to hear back from you

Thank you TV Land for bestowing this first LOL Award for the great Lucille Ball. She was truly in a class by herself, and as a showgirl and clown together, she was tops!!! Kirstie Alley and Carol Burnett were sensational on the Award Show.
I was born in October of 1953, and from my earliest days, I remember watching I Love Lucy, the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, the Lucy Show, Here's Lucy and Life with Lucy -- and anytime Lucy was on a Special, I was there tuned in. She was just so funny, and Desi was the mastermind behind it all! I heard she consulted with him on every project she did.
Thank you Lucie and Desi, Jr. for continuing the love and laughter, and honoring your parents in such a beautiful way. You are truly the best Desilu Production!!
I would love to come to Jamestown someday.
God Bless You!!
Dale Docken
I grew up watching I Love Lucy with my parents. I will never forget that. It was a big event in our house, and I always remember my Mom would make a big bowl of popcorn and dad would always come up with a large candy bar and we would all sit and watch Lucy and Desi. I only wish my kids could of experienced that. Thank You for keeping the memories alive, I will surely make the trip to Jamestown.
I'm so glad that TVLand finally recongized Lucy. It would have been nice for the whole segment of Lucie and Desi, Jr. to have been televised though. Lucie and Desi, Jr., thank you for keeping the legacy of Lucy and Desi alive in Jamestown. Laughter is what we all need. No matter how many times I watch an episode, it's still just as funny.
I love Lucy, and I mean that. I cried when they gave her the honor last night. I have all of her seasons on DVD. I watch her all the time. My dream is to go to James Town very soon, I love her so much. Lucy and Desi Jr. looked so good last night. I cried for a month when she passed. I wanted to meet her so bad. I will in Heaven one day.
It was wonderful to see her honored this evening. Carol Burnett was the perfect person to present the award. I had tears in my eyes thru the entire tribute! I was born in 1951, and can remember my parents telling me that "I Love Lucy" was a show they couldn't miss.
I watch the re-runs whenever I catch them. I even recite the script with them...I've always been a TV Junkie!!!
I would love to come to Jamestown sometime to celebrate her life and legacy! What a talented couple they were.
I've thankful to Lucie and Desi for carrying on!
Yes ,Carol Burnett was the perfect person to present the award. I start watching I love Lucy,
in the year of 1962, Is when my father Immigrate, My mother , my sister and me, to the United State, in September 1962, I was 11 years old then, since then all my family has had watching I love Lucy, and we have watched her for a long time now. So we always watch the re-runs, I live in Laredo and i watch I Love Lucy, and my parents and my sister live in Camarillo Calif, and they also watch the re-runs of I Love Lucy. Yes I would Like to go to Jamestown, to celebrate her, and her Legacy. But I can't because is to far away. But she is still in our hearts, and I think she is living in everybody hearts, because she was so beautiful, and talented, and her husband was the best. May both be with god, and I know they are because they were good persons. And Lucy and Desy, childrens, it is nice that they are carrying on. THANK YOU.
I believe that they couldn't have found a better person to give this new award to anyone better and TVLAND couldn't have found a better person to present this award than Carol Burnett. Great Job and I hope the show keeps on running forever ever more.
Carol Burnett was THE ONLY person who couldve given out that award. How Lucy must've been smilling down from heaven that night. Lucy was, is, and always will be the first lady of comedy. She is without peer. I am now enjoying ILL episodes all over again, now with my 12 year old daughter. She'll stop whatever she is doing when Lucy comes in....another generation will love Lucy, and another generation after that...
