| You never know what’s going to turn up in Lucy’s hometown! Just last month, a Jamestown resident stopped by the Lucy-Desi Center and handed me a collection of handwritten letters, personal snapshots, and greeting cards that were sent by Lucille Ball to a local lady named Mary, a childhood friend of Lucy’s. | ||||||
| Mary passed away in 1989 (the same year as Lucy), and 18 years later, Mary’s family came across a “Lucy” collection among Mary’s belongings. Phoebe, our collections manager, is currently cataloging and accessioning the items but I was able to get one of the special photos to share with you here. | ||||||

I am almost 16 years old and have just recently started watching I Love Lucy. I Fell in love with it the moment i first started watching it. She's halarious and he's georgous. it's really cool to see a personal photo of her and her mother. Lucy Rocks.

Lucy was and always will be my favorite comedian. She made me laugh when I was young and she still makes me laugh. I have been watching the re-runs for many years. I know the lines to most of them, however, I still continue to watch the episodes daily.

Lucille Ball is a fantastic actress. She has a one of a kind personalaity. Her antics
and clever acting make her very unique. She was a very funny comic. Her serious
roles were great too. Whe shee played a bag lady living on trhe street. I cannot recall

I have just been reading about Lucy and Desi and what happened behind the scenes. Don't get me wrong I LOVE I love lucy but I will never be able to watch it the same way again. Lucie Arnaz wrote something that is very touching to me. She said that the heart that had been surrounding the words I Love Lucy for so many years was finally breaking in half. And for all of those true fans out there this ought to touch you too.
I have been watching Lucy since I was nine years old. I love all of her shows. I wish I would have met her. Whenever I feel sad or I just tune to I love Lucy and I feel better! I love her, thank you for giving us the gift of laughter. We miss you..
