| Wow, just one month from today Lucy-Desi Days 2007 will be in full swing! A live telecast of AM Buffalo from the Ricardos’ New York City apartment set in the Desilu Playhouse -- Jamestown’s “I Love Lucy” museum – will kick off the more than 40 events of the jam-packed three-day weekend festival. | |||
|
You already know that Lucie Arnaz will be featured in two amazing festival happenings, moderating the Legacy of Laughter (LOL) and in full concert. One of Saturday night’s LOL panelists will be Sebastien Gendry, founder of the American School of Laughter Yoga in Los Angeles. Sebastien, who was seen recently on Oprah, will also be offering Laughter Yoga Workshops every afternoon in the Tropicana Room, a fabulous reproduction of everyone’s favorite television nightclub! Vivian Vance, whom we all know and love as Ethel Mertz, will be celebrated at three festival events. Viv’s sister, Lou Ann Graham, will be sharing mementos and personal memories -- on a Treasure Chest Boat Cruise on Chautauqua Lake (where Ricky caught that “big” fish!) and on stage where we’re adding some special screening and a surprise live performance! Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Lucy” (Diane Vincent) and her sidekick “Ethel” (Rhonda Medina) will keep things rolling at Sunday afternoon’s Masquerade Party and Trivia Contest. They’ll show up lots of other places during the weekend, and you can even get your picture taken with them at a special photo op! Lucille Ball’s “sister” Cleo Smith will celebrate her birthday with fans at a fun picnic. “I Love Lucy” film editor Dann Cahn will introduce “Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana”, the story of how Lucy and Ricky Ricardo met and the first episode of The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. And the twins who traumatized Lucy in episode 14, “The Amateur Hour”, will make a special appearance. Film fests, outdoor movies, Lucytown Tours with Lucy-Desi VIPs, a Collector’s Show, a Lucy-Desi memorabilia auction, a pizza-tossing contest and more will round out the weekend. I sure hope you can be with us – Lucy-Desi Days in Lucy’s hometown is just way too much fun to miss!! |

I love Lucille Ball so much!!!!!!!!!! i wake up at 4:30 to see "I Love Lucy" she makes great moves my favorite is "The Long Long trailer" is so funny. i am a huge fan of Lucille Ball and I'm 12 years old. I will always love Love Lucille Ball
Dear Lucie,
I just want to thank you for continuing in the joyous work of spreading laughter through the legacy passed on to you by your parents. You have done so with grace and modesty without degrading their memory through any questionable merchandising. It is nice to know that there are still decent people like you left in the world.
I hope to get up to Jamestown, NY to see the museum someday, but continue to watch when I can the visual proof televised daily that your parents and their fellow actors were pure genius personified.
Be well,
Cliff Gaw (a devoted fan of 42 years)
i love this show and always will no matter what i have every bit of the collectable items that they have made for lucy and desi and none of them r open ur mom and dad made alot of people laugh and brought alot of joy to people and still are today because i get up every morning and watch i love lucy and i just wanted to say i love them and there will never be anyone like them ever again
I am a huge fan of 'I Love Lucy', and I think Lucille Ball was wonderful in that part, but what about Desi Arnaz? He was very good in his part also, but sad to say does not get the recognition he so much deserves! The facial expressions he has at different times when once again Lucy has done something crazy are hilarious! I love it when he starts getting upset or angry and starts babbling on in Spanish/English. Seems like Desi was a very smart man, too bad whenever 'I Love Lucy' is talked about, Lucille is the main actor mentioned. I love Ricky and Lucy too!!
Yes I agree with, ""luvlucy"", Desi Arnaz, does not get the recogniton he Deserves,, I think If it wasn't for Desi, Lucy would not be as much loved as she is right now. I love her, but common lets give some recognition on Desi Arnaz too. Desi was so smart, and he knew, all of that, but he let it go because he wanted his wife to get all the attention, and be famous.. Well that is life on them, But Desi should get some Big Recogniton. I love both of them, and without the show I love Lucy, I do not know what would I do... Thanks Valla Con Dios. algo.
I too would like to make contact with Lou Ann Graham. We were friends at the University of Nebraska in the late 60s and continued through her move to San Francisco but lost touch eventually in the mid to late 70s.
Lou if you see this, please email me. David is an attorney working in the film industry in LA. We both have talked about you and how we would like to find you again.
With many fond memories.
Sara
I was so excited to have received the LUCY-DESI days flyer. I'm a really huge fan of them. I have all there 1/2 hour as well as all their 1 hour episodes. I have been watching the I LOVE LUCY show since I was 10 years old. I still watch them on TV Land every weekend. I would to see if I could all pieces of information that could be sent tp
I have been watching the I LOVE LUCY shows for many, many years! It doesn't matter how many times I have seen all the episodes, I still laugh uncontrollably! My absolute all time favourite episode is Lucy in Italy making wine, Lucy coming home from Italy with her provolone cheese baby and the candy episode on the assembly line! Why don't they make shows like this anymore? What happened to good old fashion comedy? Why I love the show even more is because Lucy always got into trouble and Ethel was always pulled into any and all of Lucy's antics! My young daughter's have now also caught the Lucy bug and whenever a Lucy episode is on tv, they too find themselves sitting there watching the episode I LOVE LUCY so, so much! Thank you for all the laughter this show has brought me throughout the years!
Silvia
Hello!
Boy do I wish I could be there!!!
I was wondering, if you might do me a favor?? I was wondering if you could find out for me how I may write to Lou ann Graham?? Vivian's sister. I'm currently writing my own book about Viv and I would love to have some more input from an actual family memeber.
That would be just lovely.
thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Daniel
I am very excited about all of these honors being made to their legacy.I am a huge fan of I love Lucy...This sounds great!!!
